Local author Maureen Callahan Smith will be reading from her recent memoir, Grace Street: A Sister’s Memoir of Grief & Gratitude, published by the Arlington local Gray Dove Press. Callahan Smith, a licensed clinical social worker with a focus on helping those experiencing trauma and loss, writes from the heart about her experience accompanying her younger sister Kathy through a late stage cancer diagnosis, from the shocking initial news through her treatment program. It’s a touching story of family love and support in the face of terrible challenges, and the joy to be found in the precious moments of everyday life.
